In February last year, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, declared a TURBOCHARGED focus on AI and stated that the company planned to bake generative AI into ALL products: Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and more.
Then, in January this year, Zuckerberg declared that his team were laser focused working on building a 'World-Class AI Assistant for EVERYONE!' These AI Assistants or 'agents' will have different personas and will act as assistants and coaches. That last bit is coming soon.
But for sure, Meta.ai is here today as is Llama 3. What the heck does all this mean to you?
Well, to begin with, for many users in certain countries now, you can use Meta AI on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger to "get things done, learn, create and connect with the things that matter to you," states Meta.
In plain English:
Meta AI is very fast with both text and images, and has probably as many use cases as Open AI's ChatGPT.
In fact, with image generation, try starting your prompt with "Imagine..." and watch the image you see in your mind's eye appear on the screen and morph real-time as you type a more and more descriptive prompt. Amazing.
My friend Paul Roetzer, CEO and founder of the Marketing AI Institute recently stated on his Artificial Intelligence podcast:
"I was BLOWN AWAY by meta.ai's auto-complete image generation."
I agree with Paul. Yes, it's impressive what AI can do, especially Meta AI now.
BUT, as you may know, there is a good portion of businesses, marketers, and consumers who are deathly afraid of AI.
And/or have mega FOMO (fear of missing out) as it's incredibly hard to 'keep up.' (Phew, whatever that even means, these days. Because, I'm here to tell you, NOBODY can humanly 'keep up' with everything AI for all use cases with the sheer velocity that this AI ship is flying through space and time!! πππ).
What you can do, though, is choose to focus on specific tools, specific key areas, and specific use cases to even just 'stay in the know.' You don't have to be a master of every tool out there. You don't even have to use Meta AI.... for now.
However, once Meta AI is baked right inside Meta Business Suite and Meta Ads Manager, you definitely WILL want to pay closer attention to how these free tools/features will be able to help you save time, be more efficient, more productive, create high performing ad campaigns and much, much more!
