Excellent info and it’s very kind of you to make it available. Thank you.

What I don’t get though is all the fawning over Facebook Pages for Business with zero criticsm for the absolutely awful implementation of the technology. Do some searching to see the thousands of complaints about how FB makes it difficult or impossible to segregate your business page from your personal profile and how people have found personal information getting posted to their business wall and vice versa.

A perfect example – Youtube/FB interface. Plenty of small businesses use Youtube to host and syndicate videos. Ever try “connecting” a business’s Youtube channel to a business’s Facebook page using Youtube’s Autoshare? It can’t be done because you need to enter the email address and pw you use on FB and business pages don’t have one – you must use the username and pw of the admin’s personal profile. So as soon as you click “connect” that info is posted to the PERSONAL profile of the admin.

FB made it impossible to have business pages independent of personal profiles. They force apps to use personal profile login information to connect. So you never know whether the task you are undertaking could cause your business and personal lives to cross or collide and for some people that’s not something they care to risk. There are thousands of posts in various forums, knowledge bases, blogs, etc complaining to deaf ears about these issues.

Until more prominent and trusted folks like yourself apply some critical thought to your support and promotion of Facebook, small business owners and people without technology staff will continue to suffer in dealing with this mess that everyone is falling over each other to praise.
